Experience & Interests: From 2003 through 2004, Dr. Fontaine worked at West Virginia University Hospital where she developed a research protocol for the use of Campath in the treatment of relapsed or refractory Multiple Myeloma. She is experienced in autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplant for hematologic malignancies. She has a special interest in cancer genetics, and obtained certification in the field from City of Hope in 2010.
Dr. Fontaine’s interest in business led her into private practice where she could practice medicine but also learn the business of medicine. She earned a physician executive MBA from the University of Tennessee in 2012.
Dr. Fontaine was voted by her peers as the Top Hematologist of 2012 and was featured in the Albuquerque Magazine Top Doc issue in 2013. She devotes her spare time to educating her peers and patients on hereditary cancer risk in addition to playing the piano and hiking.
Dr. Fontaine is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Justice Society.
